The Safety Features of the 2015 Subaru WRX STI

Safety is always a concern with any vehicle, and drivers would like to feel that they are driving a vehicle that contains at least the standard safety features set. The 2015 Subaru WRX STI is a safe car, quite safe in fact that it has earned the Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.

The following are the star safety features of this model:

Stability control – reduces engine power and applies the brakes when it senses that the handling limits have been exceeded.

Front, side, knee, and overhead airbags – there are airbags all around the cabin to protect the driver and passengers in a collision.

Anti-lock brakes – modulates the brake pressure if it senses that a tire has stopped rotating under extreme braking. This allows the tire to rotate.

Pretensioners – automatically tightens the seatbelts during a collision so that the occupant stays securely in place.

The WRX STI is based on the Impreza, which had earned the Top Safety Pick rating, as well. It should come as no surprise that this model followed suit, and even added some other worthy features, including knee airbags. It also has been designed for improved road visibility, which helps a driver’s view range that it will be hardly likely for him to miss danger signals on the road, such as a pedestrian or an animal in his path. No wonder, as the Top Safety Pick, the WRX STI performs excellently on crash tests and scores high on a range of other safety tests, making it truly a safe vehicle to drive, overall.
