More Safety Upgrades for 2016 Subaru Forester

The 2016 Subaru Forester is yet to hit Subaru dealerships in New Orleans and the surrounding areas, but it’s already causing quite a hype. Since 1997, this line of vehicles has been known to enhance on its features from previous years, and this tradition of continuing improvement hasn’t let up at all. Aside from the obvious tweaks on the design and performance, a few big safety upgrades are expected for the upcoming new Forester.

All-New EyeSight

The EyeSight is a new driver assist technology developed by the brilliant engineers at Subaru. It is a crash prevention mechanism that serves as a cruise control system to provide more safety for drivers. The all-new EyeSight on the 2016 Forester comes with Steering-Responsive Fog Lights, which are pre-aimed fog lights that help light the way for higher visibility.

STARLINK Safety and Security

STARLINK, Subaru’s exclusive infotainment system is set to get new upgrades, as well. With the STARLINK Safety Plus package, buyers will get features like SOS Emergency Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, Maintenance Notifications, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Monthly Vehicle Health Report, and Diagnostic Alerts. The Safety Plus & Security Plus Packages also add Stolen Vehicle Recovery Service, Remote Lock/Unlock, Remote Horn and Lights, Remote Vehicle Locator, and Security Alarm Notification.

Adding to these safety packages, the brand new STARLINK system also gets a hands-free connectivity upgrade. Drivers can sync up their smartphones to the STARLINK system and get access to their apps and texts, which they can respond to using voice commands.
